Pokémon of the Day: Lapras
HP: 463 Surf, Psychic, Blizzard, Thunderbolt Alongside Cloyster and Dewgong, Lapras is one of only 3
Water/Ice Pokémon. And with great HP and good attack, defense and
special, Lapras is probably the best of the 3. Other great things about
Lapras include the moves she learns. Body Slam, Ice Beam, Hydro Pump,
Confuse Ray. All very good moves. However, the move set I am suggesting
does not use any of those moves, although if you’re running short on
TMs, Body Slam and Confuse Ray are excellent moves as well. Surf gets the
1.25X bonus, as well as Blizzard, and Thunderbolt and Psychic will allow
Lapras to be effective against just about every (Lapras) |
type. By the way I did not invent this move set. I do believe it was one
of the NoBSers.
Slowpoke/Slowbro, Poliwag/Poliwhirl, Snorlax and Mewtwo. What do all thse Pokémon have in common? They all learn Amnesia! Amnesia greatly increases a Pokémon’s abilities to use and defend attacks, which depend on the “Special” stat. Out of all of the Pokémon that learn it, Mewtwo is the one who needs it the least. With a max special of 406, Mewtwo can defend and use special attacks with ease. If you teach it to Snorlax, it will help him defend special attacks better, because it is unlikely you’ll teach Snorlax many special moves. As for the Polis and the Slows, it can be used for both defense and attack.

Unused Pokémon of the Day: Electabuzz
HP: 333 Thunderbolt, Double Team, Body Slam, Reflect Although most people like to use Jolteon, I suggest Electabuzz as a
worthy alternative. Thunderbolt will produce good damage because of his
reasonably good special and his Electric type giving him a 1.5X bonus.
Reflect will improve his poor defense and Double Team will make him
annoying. Body Slam is there for Ground types, which Thunderbolt doesn’t
affect. Electabuzz’s attack is reasonably good so Body Slam will produce
good damage. If you want an alternative to it, Psychic works. Uses his
pretty good special and affects Ground types. So when you start planning
your next team, don’t automatically put in Jolteon, think about
Electabuzz.
