| Pokémon of the Day: Gyarados
HP: 393 Surf, Blizzard, Body Slam, Hyper Beam Gyarados is the most powerful water Pokémon there is. With amazing HP and Attack and hood Defense, Speed and Special, there really is no apparent weakness to the evolution of the weakling Magikarp. However, there is one weakness. Since Gyarados is part flying, and both water and flying are weak to electric, Gyarados has a 4X weakness to electric. But his part flying type also cancels out his weakness to grass because grass is not very effective against flying. With his great attack, having both Hyper Beam and Body Slam on him is a good idea. Surf will get a bonus and Blizzard is just plain awesome. |
(Gyardos) Move of the Day: Body Slam- PP: 15 “Normal attack, with 30% chance of paralysing the opponent.” Although Hyper Beam is more powerful, Body Slam is more useful in general. In two turns Body Slam does more damage and has a paralysis chance. Hyper Beam is more of a finisher. Body Slam is the move you should start with. Once they’re paralysed it makes you quicker than them and means that they sometimes cannot attack. So when you leave the S.S.Anne do NOT forget to pick up TM08. It is possibly the most used TM. |
Unused Pokémon of the Day:
Hypno
HP: 373 Psychic, Hypnosis, Meditate, Tri Attack First use Hypnosis, then Meditate to the max. Then fire away with Tri
Attack. You may think Body Slam would be better, but the 30% chance of
paralysis will affect the sleep status that Hypnosis gives. Psychic will
get 1.5X bonus and will be pretty powerful because of Hypno’s great
special. So there are other Psychic Pokémon except Mewtwo and Mew, and
Hypno, apart from those two, Hypno is the best pure Psychic Pokémon. -------------------------------------------
