Pokemon Of The Day: Nidoking
Although Nidoking has only a so-so HP total and a low defense, it has 4
things that make it different from virtually all ground-types: 1) The
ability to learn Water, Ice, Fire, and Electric TMs. While Rhydon can also
do this, Rhydon's Special is too pathetically low to make any use
of these. 2) A decent Special. Like previously mentioned, while Rhydon can
learn the same elemental TMs that Nidoking can, Nido's special can do OK w/
T-bolt & Ice beam, while Rhydon can do nothing with them. 3) A decent Speed.
Sometimes, getting the first hit is the key to victory,
especially when fighting an opponent. Nido-man will very often attack 1st,
and combined w/ his good attack and OK special w/elementals, candefeat many
opponents right off, or go dwon having done more damage to opponents. 4) A
resistance to Grass. While Grass-types may have a Special too high for Nido
to overcome w/ Ice Beam, he has a resistance to their moves. A Sandslash
with the same special as a Nidoking will lose to grass, a Nidoking will
survive at least 1 hit. 		Move of the Day: 

Mega Kick

A powerful Normal-type move, Mega Kick can very often be a very good
replacement for Hyper Beam. Although it has the same PP and is less accurate, it doesn't have the recharge. Think about MK for your Hitmonlee,
Machamp, mewtwo or Snorlax next time your pondering their
Normal-type move.

 

Unused Pokemon Of The Day:

Aerodactyl

Today's is Aerodactyl. While Aerodactyl may not have the defense &
special of a Legendary Bird, Pidgeot or Dodrio, it has a pretty good HP
and a great attack, equal to that of Kabutops. But Aero's saving grace is 1
amazing stat: it's 300+ SPEED. Aerodactyl is so fast it could
out-run Mewtwo. And with an icredible attack and the ability to learn Hyper
Beam naturally, it could beat it. Only problem: it's special
couldn't withstand a Psychic. 

However, if the big cat uses, by a miracle a
physical, Aero's Rock type can stand up to it, then unleash
an H-Beam. So for all those who plan on starting Mewtwo with Amnesia, think
again, because if you do, Aerodactyl just might get ya.
