| Pokémon
of the day:
Dragonite Dragonite is a well
rounded pokemon, but one particular stat stands out, and that stat is
ATTACK. With max attack stat
of 366, it’s no surprise that this pokemon has the highest attack in the
game. Body Slam and Hyper beam are two extremely effective moves when
using a Dragonite. Not only does dragonite have a great attack, it has a
not too shabby special too (max of 298).
Teamed up with his great special and attack, Dragonite also has
amazing tm capability (can learn Fire Blast, Blizzard, Thunder and Body
Slam to name a few). Dragonite’s
major downfall is its 4X weakness to ice attacks, but all pokemon have
weaknesses (with the exception of MewTwoJ). A fairly common move set that I have seen on Dragonite is : Hyper Beam Body Slam Thunder FireBlast That would be to
completely take advantage of his great attack, but this move set isn’t
bad either: Blizzard Hyper Beam/Body Slam Thunder/ThunderBolt FireBlast This utilizes his attack and tm capability preparing him for many different situations. Overall, this pokemon is a really great choice for any team.

Move of the day:
Toxic This once neglected move has become the backbone of strategy for many pokemon strategies such as Exeggutor’s toxic seed (Toxic and Leech Seed being used at the same time.) Basically what this move does is poison you, BUT, the poison increases with every turn until the pokemon is switched or haze is used. To get technical, from the first time that toxic affects the enemy(removes hp), every turn after that the toxic will increase by the amount that it started off with.
E.g. Toxic is used, poisoned enemy loses 1/16th of its max hp on the next turn that affects it. On the next turn after that, the enemy loses 2/16th of its max hp, and on the next turn it loses 3/16th of its max hp and so on. Another strategy commonly used with toxic is to use double team (or minimize) until your opponent won’t be able to hit you, then use toxic in combination with another attack such as mega drain. That is usually called Toxic Team. Then there is the Toxic Wrap/Spin/Clamp, which basically is toxic, then clamp/Spin/Wrap so your opponent can’t attack, and the poison gets stronger. So as you can see, Toxic is a great move, with loads of potential if
used in with right combination of moves.

(Weezing) Unused Pokémon
of the day:
Weezing This issues underused pokemon is Weezing. Weezing max stats are nicely rounded. He is strong in all areas accept for speed, which does tend to cause some problems, but that’s not a reason to rule him out completely. Weezing may be lacking in speed, but the rest of his stats are all decent, plus he has good moves and good tm compatablilty(Fire Blast and Thunder Bolt!). Not to mention that it learns Smoke Screen and Haze. And with his poison type, he is immune to being poisoned. He is weak against psychic, bug, ground, and resistant to poison, fighting, and Grass pokemon, making him a great choice to defeat many of those annoying grass pokemon that use the toxic seed combo(except for Exeggutor with his dual types). A good move set for this pokemon is: Toxic, ThunderBolt, SmokeScreen, and Explosion. So, when your putting together your next team, and need a sixth, consider Weezing.
